Alexandria City

Remarks:

The City of Alexandria is located right on the Potomac River just south and west of Washington, DC.  It contains the following stops on the METRO Blue and Yellow Lines:  King Street, Braddock Road, Eisenhower Avenue and Van Dorn Street.  It is convenient to both the Washington Beltway and I-95.

Old Town Alexandria - Alexandria's most famous neighborhood.  Some of the older homes were built as early as the 1600's.  George Washington was on the team that did the original land survey for Old Town Alexandria.  Over the years many other fine homes have been added to the historic district, and many different architectural styles often exist side by side.  Old Town is also famous for its shops and restaurants.  One of its chief charms is that it is often easy to walk to stores and eateries from many of the homes.

Rosemont - A neighborhood of fine homes built in the late 1800's and early 1900's.  It is located right between the King Street and Braddock Road Metro Stations.

Del Ray - A cozy collection of bungalows and American Four Squares located on either side of Mount Vernon Avenue.  Mount Vernon Avenue has emerged as a local shopping and restaurant hub.

Beverley Hills - This neighborhood features attractive but unpretentious brick homes nestled in yards thickly landscaped with old azalea bushes and dogwoods.  It is famous for its spring blossoms and rolling hillsides.

Jefferson Park - A lovely community of fine homes built in the 1940's and 1950's.

Seminary Ridge - This neighborhood of somewhat larger homes was built by Pulte in the 1970's.  It is located right across the street from the Virginia Theological Seminary.

Seminary Valley - A neighborhood of cape cods, split levels, and ramblers right off Van Dorn Street.

Warwick Village - A community of brick townhomes built in the 1950's conveniently located close to the Pentagon and Washington, DC.

Parkfairfax - A condo community with grounds so lovely the residents have their own garden tour in the spring!

Landmark - Also known as "Condo Canyon", this area features many high rise dwellings as well as garden condos and rental units.  The Landmark Mall is located between Van Dorn Street, Duke Street and I-395.

Cameron Station - Alexandria's newest large community.  Located right off Duke Street near Landmark, the community boasts single family homes, townhomes, and condos.  It has its own lake and recreation facilities.
